In honor of Black History Month
In honor of Black History Month, Too Lost wanted to pay tribute to the generations of Black artists who have left a lasting impact on the music industry.
When scrolling through our playlists and checking out our catalog of independent music, the influence of Black artists and Black culture is undeniable. Without the trailblazing of Black artists, the development of genres like Indie pop, rock, hip-hop, and rock today would not coincide.
The majority of songs within these genres have roots and influences that stem from the work of Black artists. Too Lost invites our community to keep this in mind when listening to your favorite song or creating your own works this month and beyond.
The Black American experience is noteworthy for its diversity, as its stories are shaped not only by family heritage and personal history but also by regional and historical factors. Music has played a vital role in documenting this experience from its earliest days.
In efforts to highlight the wide range of talent from Black Artists, we created a playlist that features both Black artists on our platform and songs from the influential Black artists throughout history.
