Artist Spotlight: Yuki Chiba

Born and raised in Tokyo, Yuki Chiba is a Japanese rapper that has helped redefine the rap scene in his country and beyond.

Yuki had a childhood marked by adversity, but music helped him and his brother get through many dark times. He began writing and producing at 18, and his career really took off in 2014 when he – known at the time as KOHH –  his brother, Lil KOHH, released the viral hit “Young Forever.”

With his debut album “MONOCHROME”, he broke out of Japan’s underground hip-hop scene and began reaching global audiences who were drawn to his raw, distinctive style.

Later on, Chiba decided to retire his former stage name and go by his real name, Yuki Chiba. His music has matured over the years, but he's never shied away from experimenting, blending genres, and pushing sonic boundaries. That creative freedom has helped him build a loyal fanbase and sell out concerts.

Since then, he’s hit several career milestones—like collaborating with Megan Thee Stallion on “Mamushi”, and performing live with her on a sold out show at the O2 Arena in London, and most recently releasing “Shinpai Muyou”, a new track in partnership with the video game Valorant.

Yuki Chiba proves that raw talent, vision, and staying true to your sound can take you far—and that being an independent artist allows you to keep full creative control as you grow, evolve, and share your artistry with the world.
