Artist Spotlight: VEAUX
Nashville might be known for its country roots, but rising alt-pop trio VEAUX is pushing the city’s sonic boundaries into bold new territory. Made up of brothers Aaron and Dominick Wagner and longtime friend Andrew Black, the band fuses indie rock, alt-pop, and nostalgic textures into a sound that’s wholly their own.
VEAUX’s story starts the way great music often does — late-night drinks and a spark of inspiration. After years of making music together off and on, the three cemented their collaboration one night in a hotel bar, gin and tonics in hand. The name VEAUX (pronounced “vō”), a French slang term for “commoner,” reflects their commitment to staying grounded and authentic, no matter how far their music takes them.
Their latest single, “Rah Tah Tah,” is a gritty, genre-blending anthem that channels the energy of early-2000s post-punk through a modern lens. With echoes of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV On The Radio, and Bloc Party, the track marries classic rock-inspired melodies with a politically charged undercurrent — giving listeners not just a banger, but a call to action. It’s a rally cry disguised as a dance track, beating the drum for hope and revolution.
Since forming in 2016, VEAUX has built a reputation as one of Nashville’s most exciting independent acts. They’ve toured nationwide, shared stages with artists like Wet Leg, Charlotte Sands, Twen, and Mae, and racked up millions of streams along the way. Their music has landed placements on MTV and ABC, and frontman Aaron Wagner has earned recognition as one of Nashville’s Top 25 songwriters.
Now back in the studio and booking shows across the country, VEAUX is continuing to prove that great pop music can be thoughtful, genreless, and unshakably real.
