Tall Heights, the dynamic guitar and cello duo from Boston, has been captivating audiences with their unique blend of rich harmonies and experimental sound since forming in 2009. Comprised of Tim Harrington and Paul Wright, the band began their journey by busking on the streets of Boston, crafting songs that embraced the spontaneity and intimacy of street performances.

Harrington and Wright, both natives of Sturbridge, Massachusetts, met in their hometown and started their musical journey together by performing at local Boston hotspots. Their big break came when they were discovered by Ryan Montbleau at the Lizard Lounge Open Mic Challenge in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This pivotal connection led to collaborative performances and the release of their EP, All or Nothing / Fast Car, in 2014.

Since then, Tall Heights has released three studio albums to critical acclaim, amassing over 400 million streams to date. Their music has garnered widespread attention, earning them appearances on Conan O'Brien and CBS This Morning, as well as song placements in popular TV shows such as Grey's Anatomy and American Idol. Sharing stages with iconic artists like Ben Folds, José González, Blind Pilot, and Gregory Alan Isakov, Tall Heights has solidified their place in the indie-folk music scene.

Most recently, after opening for Ben Folds on tour, the duo was invited by Folds to stay on the road as his backing band. This collaboration evolved into multiple tours together, eventually leading Harrington and Wright to Nashville in 2022, where they helped Folds write and record his album What Matters Most (New West, 2023). The apprenticeship with Folds allowed them to further hone their craft, both on stage and in the studio.

With these formative experiences behind them, Tall Heights now enters 2024 with their fourth studio LP, Softly Softly, set for release on October 18, 2024. The album, as its title suggests, evokes a sense of serene contemplation and self-reflection, perfectly capturing the essence of autumn. As they prepare for the album’s release, the duo continues to captivate listeners with their distinctive blend of harmonies and instrumentation.
