SUM SUN, a dynamic collaboration between accomplished creators Nick Benton and Ilan Pomerance, seamlessly blends organic instrumentation, cinematic production, and captivating hooks. Garnering over 1 million cumulative streams and earning early praise from influencers like Travis Mills, the duo has captivated global audiences with their personal songwriting and genre-defying artistry.

At the age of 17, New Jersey-native Benton co-wrote and produced tracks for Billboard-charting reggae acts, securing a Top 10 debut on the Billboard Top Reggae Songs chart. Simultaneously, he contributed his voice and songwriting skills to dance artists under Ultra Records. During this period, Pomerance was busy co-writing and producing tracks for Sony Music Entertainment and others. Their paths converged on Instagram, leading to a creative synergy on Zoom that laid the foundation for a six-year partnership and the birth of SUM SUN.

The duo's music, influenced by the likes of Louis The Child, MGMT, and ARIZONA, embodies bright melodies within artfully crafted electronic pop. SUM SUN kicked off a prolific 2022 with tracks like "2:38," "Kids Again," "Wishbone," and "Catching Fire," culminating in a sold-out debut gig at Bowery Electric. They honed a future-facing sound with nostalgic overtones and released their debut single "Stereo" with 2 Birds 1 Stone/Sparta.

As SUM SUN officially emerged, Benton and Pomerance shared their inspiration, stating, "We have always been super inspired when the sun pokes through the clouds. It makes us feel our best, it pushes us, and it motivates us—which is what we hope our music does for you."

The New York-based DJ duo has made an impact on Billboard's charts with their collaboration with BONNIE X CLYDE, "Memory." Released on May 26 under the independent label Lowly, the track debuted at No. 34 on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, experiencing a 30% increase in plays. In a March interview with People, the duo revealed they are actively working on their debut EP, scheduled for release this year.
