Born out of the vibrant chaos of New York City, Stolen Gin is a band that pulses with the energy of the metropolis that raised them. The group first came together as students at NYU, bonding over a shared love for genre-blending experimentation and an appetite for the city's endless musical inspiration. “Being in the city gave us this endless palette of sounds, cultures, and venues to pull from,” they recall.

Their earliest gigs were gritty and grassroots—playing packed house shows, rooftop frat parties, and eventually tiny venues tucked into the Lower East Side. But it didn’t take long for their high-energy performances to start gaining traction. One of their breakthrough moments came at The Bitter End, where the crowd got so rowdy the band thought they might get banned. “We thought we were going to get in a ton of trouble,” they laugh, “but the owners actually loved it and invited us back.”

What started as a group of college kids jamming between classes has evolved into a finely tuned five-piece with a sound that’s equal parts indie rock, pop, and electronic dance music. “We always try to make every show feel like a party and have our studio tracks reflect that,” they say. That ethos has helped them develop a live reputation that keeps dance floors moving and fans coming back for more.

Over time, Stolen Gin has worked to lean deeper into that danceable energy, crafting a sound that feels less like a traditional concert and more like a euphoric club night. “We want people to lose themselves in the music, whether they’re seeing us live or listening to a track at home.”

Despite the electric highs of sold-out shows and international touring, life on the road hasn’t always been glamorous. “The biggest hurdle so far has been tough touring conditions—long drives, sleeping on couches, eating bad food, and then having to give your best live performance,” they admit. “But the shows themselves are always worth it.”

That dedication has led to a series of recent milestones that mark Stolen Gin’s upward climb: a celebrated performance at New York’s own Governors Ball, a completely sold-out European tour, and opening for alt-pop giants Saint Motel across North America. “Those guys are not only incredibly talented, but also great humans,” they reflect. “We’re so grateful they gave us the chance to share our music with their fans.”

Looking ahead, the band is riding that momentum into an exciting new chapter. Their debut album is due out this fall, led by the shimmering first single “Spoil My Night.” A full North American headline tour will follow, taking them across the U.S. and Canada.

As they continue to evolve and expand their sound, the band holds fast to one piece of advice: “Be prolific. Put out as much music, content, videos, and shows as you can. You never know what’s going to hit until you put it out there.”

If the past few years are any indication, a lot more is about to hit. And for Stolen Gin, the party’s just getting started.
