Artist Spotlight

Virginia native with Ghanaian roots, Sækyi — pronounced “Sah-key” — is quickly proving to be a force to be reckoned with in the hip-hop world.

After releasing his debut single Suicide Bomber in 2018 and receiving an overwhelmingly positive response, Sækyi decided to fully pursue a career in music. His passion began with his father, who would blast music throughout their family basement, and evolved through influences like Michael Kiwanuka — all of which helped shape his uniquely rich sound.

Sækyi’s songs always carry something special — a surprise jazz influence, an ode to Ghanaian music, or simply the raw emotion of his melodic voice paired with powerful, intentional lyrics. He doesn’t waste a single word, always centering meaningful themes in his writing.

In addition to releasing several singles over the years, he founded his own independent label, twoFACED, with the goal of not only supporting his own career but uplifting other independent artists along the way.

His latest project, LOST IN AMERICA, released on July 11th, is a vibrant and deeply personal anthem that blends soulful melodies with bold production, honoring both his journey and his roots. The standout bonus track, GHANA BABY, takes listeners on a powerful exploration of identity and cultural pride.

Sækyi is living proof that talent and authenticity pay off. With a fresh sound, bold vision, and the creative freedom that comes from being independent, there's no doubt we'll be hearing a lot more from him in the years to come.
