Los Angeles-born Leah Kate always dreamed of being a pop star. She started writing breakup anthems with her brother at just 11 years old — even though she hadn’t experienced heartbreak yet. Today, she’s known and loved by millions for exactly that: her bold, catchy breakup pop-rock anthems.

Leah was briefly signed to a label but later revealed that the experience pushed her away from her instincts. In an interview with The New Nine, she said:

“I stopped listening to my gut and my intuition when I signed and had 40 people around me at all times, kind of telling me what to do. But ultimately, I only win when I'm taking my own advice and doing what I feel is best for my career. So, just always follow your gut and trust your instincts.”
