Kay Franklin is building a name for himself in R&B and hip-hop. The West Los Angeles artist grew up surrounded by music, with his grandfather, producer John Barnes, working with legends like Michael Jackson and Chaka Khan. Inspired by artists like Marvin Gaye and Kendrick Lamar, he blends different sounds to create something personal.

Franklin gained attention with 4 The Low, a track featuring Wiz Khalifa. Before that, his work with Joyce Wrice on Rocket Science showed his talent for crafting songs that connect deeply with listeners.

Now, he’s back with Handle W/ Care, his first release of 2025 and a follow-up to Smack Pack, Vol. 1. The project dives into love and relationships, with the standout track We Do capturing both the highs and lows of romance. With collaborations alongside LA staples like Dom Kennedy and Mike & Keys, Franklin continues to refine his sound and storytelling.
