In 2019, Imanbek Zeikenov, a 19-year-old from the small village of Aksu in Kazakhstan, stumbled upon the song "Roses" by Guyanese-American rapper and singer Saint Jhn. Intrigued by the track, Imanbek, who was studying railway engineering and working at the local train station, decided to create his own version. He added a powerful bass line, snare drum, and pitched up Saint Jhn's voice, creating a unique and compelling sound.

Without hesitation, Imanbek posted his remix on Russian social media. To his surprise, a few months later, he was suddenly a pop star. In August 2019, he signed with Effective Records, a Russian label, and reached an agreement with Saint Jhn to release their collaboration as a single officially. "Roses" initially gained popularity on TikTok in early 2020, with thousands of teens performing dances to the song.

Imanbek's remix of "Roses" became a massive international hit, reaching No. 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 in the UK, allowing him to quit his job and fully embrace his career as a professional musician. Although Imanbek and Saint Jhn have yet to meet in person, they have communicated through Instagram direct messages.

Imanbek’s story is a testament to the power quality of music on social media and the impact it can have on someone's life. Through his unique remix of "Roses," Imanbek was able to transform his life from a railway engineering student working at a train station to a professional musician with a hit song on the charts. This demonstrates the changing landscape of the music industry, where success is becoming harder to predict and can come from anywhere. Imanbek's experience shows us that with hard work and a little bit of luck, anyone can turn their dreams into a reality.
