Hailing from Connecticut, Aaron Taos is a singer/songwriter who combines laidback musical elements and clever humor to create a distinctive sound that fans cannot get enough of. He appeared in the music scene in the 2010s, blending his passion for guitar-based indie rock with a romantic, electronic-tinged vibe. Around 2015, he started sharing his music online, and quickly gained a following with laid-back tracks such as "Ill" and "Simple and Sober." Based in LA, he continued to experiment and grow artistically, incorporating elements of EDM into his catchy pop anthems.

In 2019, Taos released his EP “Birthday Boy” which brought his career to new heights. In an interview with Ones to Watch, Taos described the inspiration behind this personal album: 

"'Birthday Boy'  is a semi-concept album about growing older. It’s an album written at a low point in my life during which I was going through quite a bit of self-reflection - mainly surrounding the questions: What do I want? Why do I want it? and Is it truly important? For me, birthdays serve as important milestones for introspection. With this as the thematic foundation of the album, 'Birthday Boy'  is a personal exploration through the lens of the expectations we place on ourselves in relation to getting older."

This EP carries one of Taos’ most popular tracks to date, “Control”. "Control" is a vibrant song that provides a glimpse into Taos' psyche, exploring the sense of helplessness and questioning who has authority over oneself. With a thick bassline, clever lyricism, and addicting guitar riff, it's no surprise that this song has been massively successful. On Spotify alone this track has garnered over 14 Million streams. 

Even though Taos experienced success with the release of his EP “Birthday Boy”, he has remained dedicated to his craft and evolving as an artist. This is seen in the multiple singles and albums he has released since. Songs like “Indigo” and “punk chick” demonstrate his versatility as an artist while he continues to push the boundaries of pop and rock. 

With his undeniable talent and artistic vision, Taos has proven to be an exciting artist to watch in 2023.
